Please join us for this conversation about the revival of out online recovery group, Maintain Recovery. It is a group for people in recovery.

The group has met at a few places over the years, but for most of the 2010s, it was the Thursday morning gathering with Larry Walton at The Banyan Tree Center. Later, when Recovery Cafe moved, so too did the meeting. It has been a while since the group met, and now it has moved again—this time online, and Steve Patterson, who co-facilitated the group since 2015, is on duty.

Maintain Recovery is an online group for people in recovery. It is primarily aimed at risk reduction.

We are reaching out to anyone who has worked with Recovery Cafe in the past or is today to gauge interest. The ZOOM meeting will serve as a reintroduction of the aim of the group and our approach to recovery.

If you want to know more, please join us live on September 14th, at 8 pm EST on ZOOM.

Online Recovery Group

Maintenance of Change Individuals typically choose Maintenance Groups after participating in a Consultation with one of our Directors or a Senior Counselor. This group is a good fit for you if you are committed to making the change to a low risk relationship with alcohol and/or some other drug which may include the choice of abstinence.

For this group, maintenance is defined as the process of reinforcing the commitment to action in changing behaviors. Choosing our maintenance group would mean you have expressed a desire to stop the high risk of use of alcohol and/or another drug, and have come to the decision that a lower risk lifestyle is your choice.

This group is facilitated by our Directors or Senior Counselors, uses a present and future-focused perspective based on Motivational Interviewing and Positive Psychology. Elements of Prime Solutions from the Prevention Research Institute may also be used to develop real life tools for increasing the accomplishment of your goals.

This is a small group which is intended to create a supportive environment for people who have made a change in their alcohol and drug misuse and for those who may be starting out their journey toward/of abstinence.
